Our client, is currently seeking a Bridge Inspector to join their team on a contract or permanent basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key part in assessing the condition of various assets and supporting the identification and prioritisation of maintenance and repair works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting general and principal inspections of bridges and other structures
- Undertaking special inspections and surveying accident damage to structures
- Delivering a programme of over 500 general inspections and around 100 principal inspections each year
- Documenting and reporting on the condition of bridges and recommending maintenance needs
- Collaborating with local team members to ensure safe and high-standard working practices
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders and colleagues to convey inspection findings and action plans
Job Requirements:
- Experience in bridge inspection and an understanding of bridge design principles
- Familiarity with bridge inspection processes and Bridge Condition Indicators
- A mature and self-aware approach to achieving high standards and ensuring safety
- Strong communication skills with the ability to keep stakeholders and colleagues informed
- A passion and aptitude for bridge inspection
- An HNC, HND in civil/structural engineering, or equivalent demonstrable experience
