Senior Civil Engineer - Birmingham

Salary: Up to £55,000 + benefits

My client a respected private civil engineering consultancy who are looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join their growing team in Birmingham.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering a wide range of infrastructure, drainage, flood risk, and landform design projects. You'll lead design work, support project delivery from concept to completion, and mentor junior engineers and technicians.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver civil engineering designs across drainage, highways, flood risk, and infrastructure projects.

  • Undertake earthworks analysis, and prepare Flood Risk Assessments and technical reports.

  • Work with Section 104, 38, and 278 agreements for adoption procedures.

  • Oversee project delivery and liaise with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.

  • Contribute to the consultancy's ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental management systems.

  • Support BIM Level 2 implementation and coordination.


Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in drainage and infrastructure design.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, PDS, and MicroDrainage.

  • Good understanding of PPS 25, FEH, and hydraulic modelling (ISIS or similar).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to deadlines.


Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

  • Minimum 3+ years' post-graduation experience in civil engineering design.

  • Working towards or already achieved Chartered Engineer (CEng) status (ICE or equivalent).

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site and client meetings.
