Salary: £41,000 + Benefits (Day Shift)
Shifts: Day Shift initially → Rotating Day/Back Shift from April/May 2026
Callouts: 1 in 6 rotation after probation (Mon 07:00 → following Mon 07:00)

Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be comfortable working shifts and participating in the call-out rota once trained.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join the on-site reliability engineering team. Initially working permanent days until April/May 2026, you'll transition into a 4-week Days / 4-week Back Shift rotation thereafter.

You'll carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to equipment breakdowns, and play a key role in maintaining critical production machinery across the site.

What you'll be doing

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
* Completing routine planned maintenance on a wide range of process equipment
* Responding to breakdowns safely and effectively
* Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs within competence
* Working with equipment such as:
- CNC machinery
- Automation systems
- Controls
- Heat-treatment and pressure systems
- Site services
- Hydraulic schematics and machine drawings

Shift Overview:
* Day Shift: Mon-Fri, 07:30-16:00 (until Apr/May 2026)
* Rotation (from mid-2026): 4 weeks Days → 4 weeks Back Shift
* Back Shift: Mon-Thu 15:00-23:30, Fri 11:00-16:00 (+26% premium)

Call-out rota begins after probation (1 in 6). No call-outs during Back Shift rotation.

What you'll need to succeed

You'll bring a hands-on engineering background, strong diagnostic ability, and a proactive approach to maintenance and reliability.

Essential:
* Time-served Mechanical Engineer
* Experience in engineering or production environments
* Basic electrical understanding
* Competent using Microsoft Word/Excel

Desirable:
* HNC qualification
* FLT / IPAF licences (training provided if required)
