Our client, a leading player in the defence and security sector, is seeking a self-motivated and positive Electronic Systems Engineer to join their Engineering team in Poole. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in the design and analysis of innovative electronic systems and subsystems within a dynamic engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing electronic systems and subsystems
- Defining and executing verification test plans
- Performing peer review of electronic designs
- Conducting analyses of new developments and legacy products (MTBF, FTA, FMECA, etc.)
- Acting as System Design Authority for selected electronic products
- Liaising with suppliers and customers
- Developing and maintaining requirements specifications
- Characterising electronic circuits and troubleshooting problems
- Prototyping using LPKF / FDM technologies
- Training and mentoring peers, promoting innovation within the team
Job Requirements:
- Proven electronic system design expertise in schematic capture, PCB layout, and circuit simulation
- Experience with integration of sub-systems and accurate technical authoring
- Proficiency in Altium Designer, embedded ANSI C, and FMECA/FTA analysis
- Understanding of mechanical drawings and embedded C programming
- Hands-on experience in an electronics new product development environment
- Bachelor's degree in electronic systems design, mechatronics, or a similar relevant qualification
- Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders
