Our client, a prominent player in the aerospace MRO sector, is currently seeking a dedicated Level 2 Aircraft Maintenance Fitter to join their team. This permanent role is essential for maintaining the A400M fleet in accordance with technical documentation and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out aircraft maintenance tasks as directed by the Hangar Foreman, SLE or LE
  • Ensuring tasks are booked and notifying the Hangar Foreman when additional time is required
  • Transporting heavy equipment, tooling, and spares around the site, including using a forklift (training provided)
  • Assisting with aircraft cleaning and maintaining a clean working environment
  • Servicing aircraft toilets and containing fuel and/or oil spillage
  • Helping with aircraft manoeuvring requirements
  • Separating and recycling waste products as necessary
  • Ensuring scissor lifts are charged and batteries serviced at the end of the shift
  • Maintaining AAGDS vehicles in a clean and functional state, including fluid level checks
  • Addressing and reporting any safety concerns immediately
  • Maintaining equipment in a serviceable, clean, tidy, and safe condition, reporting any faults immediately
  • Fulfilling additional team responsibilities or requests from Hangar Foreman, SLE, LE, or Hangar Management Team
  • Recommending improvements to increase safety and/or efficiency
  • Providing offsite support when required, such as AOG and Line support
  • Staying current with all Read & Sign notices

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in aircraft maintenance or a comparable industry, or a recognised aircraft apprenticeship with at least one year of aircraft experience
  • Satisfactory completion of a Competency Assessment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and unsupervised when required
  • Good awareness of aviation safety and security responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to operate a powerset (GPU)

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous aircraft maintenance experience or experience in a comparable trade or industry
  • Level 2 Maintenance/Engineering Diploma required
  • Experience working at an operational aerodrome
