Our client, a leading organisation in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join their team in either Gloucester or Manchester. This permanent role is perfect for an individual with experience in deploying applications to cloud or on-prem environments, playing a fundamental role in various business areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building and setting up development tools and infrastructure
- Understanding the needs of project stakeholders
- Automating and improving development and release processes
- Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cyber security threats
- Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and solutions
- Collaborating with other engineers to ensure development follows established processes and works as intended
Job Requirements:
- Experience with Helm and Continuous Integration
- Proficiency in Ansible and Jenkins
- Holding an active eDV clearance
- Understanding of infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Puppet, Chef)
- Experience in building and deploying large-scale applications in CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with container platforms and orchestration systems like ECS, AKS, Kubernetes/Helm/Docker
- Knowledge of automation and integration tools such as Jenkins, Concourse CI, or cloud equivalents
- Experience in scripting languages and source control
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery model
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS or Azure)
