Maintenance Technician / Semi‑Skilled Plant Operator
Location: Aberdare
Shift Pattern: 3‑shift rotation (Days, Nights, Afternoons)
Salary: Competitive Salary + shift allowance (dependent on experience)
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Compound Plant team in Aberdare as an experienced Maintenance Technician / Semi‑Skilled Plant Operator. Working as part of a small, dedicated team, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and efficiency of our busy manufacturing plant. This is a hands‑on role in a fast‑paced environment, requiring flexibility and a commitment to overtime when needed.
What We're Looking For
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 5 years' experience as a maintenance technician or semi‑skilled operator in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
Completed a recognised apprenticeship in a relevant discipline; HNC qualification preferred.
Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills.
Comfortable working across varied shift patterns, including continuous shifts.
Able to work independently, using initiative in a challenging environment.
Computer literate, with solid knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
Understanding of PLC programming is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain, repair, and fault‑find on plant and machinery using a range of maintenance disciplines.
Support machine efficiency and development programmes using established maintenance methodologies.
Carry out preventative maintenance inspections and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring faults.
Manage and operate a PVC compounding facility effectively and safely.
Shift Pattern
3‑shift rotation, Monday to Friday
Full week of days, full week of nights, full week of afternoons (5 × 8‑hour shifts)
