One of London's most vital transport operations are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Commercial Manager to join their London Trams commercial team.
- Role: Assistant Commercial Manager
- Duration: Initial 3-month contract
- Salary: £360 p/day (Inside IR35 via Umbrella)
- Location: London
- Working Pattern: 2 / 3 days
This role will be situated in the heart of the London Trams commercial team, and as Assistant Commercial Manager you will support essential procurement activity across a range of infrastructure categories including civils, power, and track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing pre‑procurement and post‑contract activities
- Preparing procurement strategies, governance papers, commercial schedules, and award documentation
- Leading stakeholder engagement for renewals, competitions and urgent procurement needs
- Supporting contract management and change control
- Ensuring all work complies with the Procurement Act 2023
- Using systems such as SAP Ariba and SAP R3 for supplier and contract management
- Maintaining accurate, auditable records across all procurement processes
As Assistant Commercial Manager, you will support the Commercial Manager with end‑to‑end procurement activity across the Trams network.
Key Requirements:
- CIPS or RICS qualification
- Background in infrastructure, transport, rail or public sector procurement
- Proven experience on pre‑procurement and post‑contract activities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience using procurement systems such as SAP Ariba and SAP R3
- Knowledge of governance processes and the Procurement Act 2023
- Experience with e‑tendering portals
