Are you ready to play a key role in a modern data transformation? We are seeking a BI Solutions Analyst to join our Data Centre of Excellence. In this role, you will help us transition from legacy systems to a cutting-edge Microsoft Fabric platform, ensuring our reporting assets are accurate, reliable, and high-performing.
This is an intermediate-level position focused on day-to-day operational delivery, reporting development, and semantic model support within an established architectural framework.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting Development & Maintenance: Build and modify Power BI dashboards; manage version control and workspace governance; and translate business needs into actionable visuals and measures.
Semantic Model Support: Maintain enterprise-level semantic models (including Sales and Finance models) and develop efficient DAX measures aligned with governance standards.
Data Triage & Operational Support: Monitor data ingestion pipelines across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers. You'll diagnose load failures and inconsistencies within our metadata-driven Fabric framework.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the bridge between technical teams and departments like Finance and Sales to gather requirements and translate them into structured user stories.
Data Quality & Governance: Validate data across multiple source systems (CRM, ERP, and HRIS) and maintain rigorous documentation for business logic and dependencies.
UAT & Production Support: Lead first-line analysis of data discrepancies and support the rollout and adoption of reports across the business.
Skills & Experience
While we are looking for a practitioner with a solid foundation in BI, we view the following technical skills as desirable and are open to candidates who demonstrate the right aptitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable Technical Skills
Power BI Expertise: Experience with DAX, Power Query, and report UX/UI design, including row-level security.
Microsoft Fabric Knowledge: A working understanding of Lakehouse concepts (Bronze/Silver/Gold), data pipelines, and OneLake storage.
Querying & Modelling: Exposure to SQL or Spark SQL for querying data models, alongside a familiarity with Star Schema principles.
Platform Concepts: An understanding of ETL/ELT concepts with the ability to troubleshoot (rather than design) complex architectures.
Soft Skills & Professional Attributes
Communication: Ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Attention to Detail: A high degree of accuracy, particularly concerning financial and operational reporting.
Proactive Problem Solving: A structured approach to issue triage and the ability to work within established DevOps frameworks.
Bonus Points For:
Experience with integrated systems like Salesforce, Dynamics 365, or Bullhorn.
Exposure to Microsoft Fabric Copilot or AI-assisted BI capabilities.
Experience in replatforming legacy reports into modern BI environments.
