We're partnering with them to appoint a Technical Sales Engineer to grow key accounts and win new business across the Municipal sector, while also supporting selected opportunities in Industrial & Infrastructure.

This is a field-based role covering the South West with regular travel and occasional overnight stays. You'll be part of a collaborative UK-wide sales team and supported by in-house laboratory, technical solutions, and operations teams.

The Opportunity

  • Own the sales cycle from opportunity identification and site scoping through to proposal, order close-out, delivery and handover.
  • Lead proactive business development within municipal wastewater treatment, and support cross-sector projects as business needs dictate.
  • Build and grow long-term strategic relationships with water companies, Tier 1s and partners; manage key accounts with a focus on sustainable growth.
  • Develop technical and commercial proposals (hire and project solutions) with support from internal specialists.
  • Work closely with the in-house lab to interpret test results and integrate findings into proposals.
  • Represent the business at industry events, deliver presentations and provide expert advisory support to clients.
  • Maintain and report activity via CRM (Microsoft Dynamics or similar), producing forecasts, pipeline visibility, and key sales metrics.
  • Collaborate with solutions/design and operations teams to ensure feasible, compliant and cost‑effective delivery.
  • Champion QHSE values and ensure adherence to relevant standards, procedures and regulations.

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrable technical sales experience-ideally within the UK water/wastewater sector (municipal experience highly advantageous).
  • Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes and applicable design standards (you can translate technical detail into clear client value).
  • Proven key account management capability and experience growing strategic accounts.
  • Excellent analysis, data interpretation and report writing skills; comfortable tailoring solutions to varied client needs.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to adapt technical content to audience.
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise, manage multiple opportunities concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM (Dynamics desirable).
  • Degree in an engineering/scientific discipline (e.g., Chemical, Civil, Environmental) preferred.
  • Awareness of environmental legislation and quality standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 9001:2015).
  • Full UK driving licence (max 6 points).
  • Flexible to travel frequently across the region; positive, collaborative and commercially minded.
