Report Developer - 12 Month Contract - Rochester - £42.11 UMB or £35.86 PAYE
Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Report Developer to join their team on a contract basis. This role, based in Rochester, is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to critical projects within an influential industry.
The Oracle Report Developer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing reports using appropriate reporting tools. The role supports business operations by delivering accurate, timely, and well-structured data outputs from Oracle databases and ERP systems, ensuring data integrity, performance, and usability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain reports using Oracle Reports, Oracle BI Publisher, Smartview, FRC and related tools
- Write and optimize **SQL and PL/SQL** queries, procedures, and packages for reporting purposes
- Gather and analyze business requirements to translate them into technical reporting solutions
- Develop complex data models and report layouts based on business needs
- Ensure report accuracy, data consistency, and compliance with business rules
- Tune report performance and optimize database queries
- Support deployment, testing, and troubleshooting of reports in production environments
- Maintain documentation for report logic, data sources, and technical designs
- Collaborate with functional teams, DBAs, and application developers
- Provide ongoing support and enhancements to existing reports
Job Requirements:
- Experience with Oracle APEX, OTBI, or OBIEE
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
- Exposure to ETL tools or reporting automation
- Experience working in Agile or ITIL environments
Skills
- Strong experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Reporting tools, Oracle Reports, BI Publisher, Oracle Analytics or relevant reporting tools (essential)
- Solid understanding of Oracle ERP database architecture
- Experience with joins, subqueries, analytic functions, and performance tuning
- Knowledge of XML, RTF templates, and report formatting (for BI Publisher)
- Familiarity with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and Oracle Cloud deployments
