Our client, a prominent player in the defence and security sector, is looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Software Support Engineer to join their team in Fareham, UK. This is a permanent position with a focus on supporting cutting-edge uncrewed vehicles (drones) for dual-use applications across air, land, and sea.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
- Provide timely and effective technical support to the Production team
- Gather and analyse feedback to identify potential issues and improvement opportunities
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues
Quality Assurance and Testing:
- Develop and execute test cases to ensure software quality and reliability
- Identify and report software defects and performance issues
- Collaborate with development teams to improve software quality and reduce defects
Software Development:
- Participate in small-scale software development tasks, including bug fixes, feature enhancements, and code maintenance
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Collaborate with other developers to ensure code quality and consistency
Technical Documentation:
- Create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation, such as data sheets and user manuals
- Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily understandable
Job Requirements:
- Experience in C++ programming
- Familiarity with Linux systems and tools required
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with software testing and quality assurance methodologies
- Experience in writing technical documentation
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evening meetings to collaborate with the New Zealand team
